Starting from the state of art HSSP project, the project HealthSOAF has the following four main objectives:

 

Specifications or rather to contribute to the standardization process of specific HSSP, obviously for missing components. On this front, thanks to a collaboration agreement with HL7 Italy, HealthSOAF the project also aims to make an important contribution in respect of the process of localization of specific HSSP, with particular reference to the Italian areas interested into the project (Regioni Obiettivo Convergenza in Italia indicated by European Community);

   

Proof of Concept: or rather to provide an implementation of the HSSP services, based on the specific STM (Technical Service Model) defined within the same project HSSP. On this front, the project partners of HealthSOAF will be engaged in an important activity of design, for the definition of specific technical and functional services, this phase will be carried out following an MDA approach (Model Driven Architecture), that is particularly suitable for the modeling of highly distributed architecture service systems. At the design phase will follow the part of the design, which should lead to the physical model of the architecture, and hence development of prototypes. While dealing these research prototypes, the project partners aim to provide innovative implementations of services plug-and-play standard, generic, resilient, knowledgeable, so that they can be the basis for their future industrialization not only for the Italian market of health information technology, but for the world market;

 

Test framework: that is to provide a test environment, of a “black box”, which can allow partners to actors and also third parties (in a manner that will be studied within the project) to verify and, somehow, to certify the compliance of the own solutions to HSSP standard;;

 

Pilot: or build a demonstrator that can verify and evaluate how the services HSSP can  support health-clinical processes in order to ensure continuity of care, integration of hospital-territory and, at the same time, a rationalization of health expenditure.

 

In order to work on these four fronts in a structured way, in order to define clear and measurable objectives and to achieve the expected results, the project has identified the following five HealthSOAF development objectives (OR):

Ø  OR1: Specifications: incorporates the activities by which the project partners can contribute to the definition of the missing HSSP specifications of the project and the process of localization of the same. The OR must pass by a major phase of study of the state of the art assessment of the current state and progress of the standard HSSP. The study of the context in which it moves HSSP and the identification of the space in which it intends to move the project HealthSOAF lead, as part of this OR, also to identify what could be the business models to which the results of the project may be subsequently industrialized countries;

 

Ø  OR2: Design. This OR seeks to formalize all the technical and functional specifications of the Proof of Concept phase of the project. As mentioned above, the partners will follow a formal MDA approach, so that the experience of the project HealthSOAF both at the same time, replicable and applicable not only at national level but also at international level;

 

Ø  OR3: Prototyping. The OR3 deals with the design and prototype development services HSSP phase Proof of Concept. OR This will, in particular, implement the following services HSSP:

 

ü  Health Record Services (HRS): standard management services of the profile and the clinical history of the patients on the standard RLUS;

ü  Identity Health Services (HIS): standard management services for patient registers, practitioners, organizations, systems, devices, relative to the standard IXS;

ü  Health Terminology Services (HTS): services management standard terminologies and coding clinics and health on the standard CTS2;

ü  Health Directory Services (HDS): standard management services of yearbooks for healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations on the standard HCSPD; Privacy;

ü  Health Services (HPS): standard authorization, access control, management of privacy and consent, authentication, relative to the standard PASS;

ü  Health Decision Support Services (HDSS): standard search, query, execution of decision support modules, relative to the standard DSS.

 

Ø  OR4: Integration. This OR aims to set up the test environment that would allow in a first phase the project partners to verify the adherence of the services provided to the standard HSSP. This test environment, which is a black-box framework, it can be also made available to third-party actors who want to evaluate the compliance of their solutions to the standard HSSP.

 

Ø  OR5: Pilot. This OR aims to define functional specifications, set up, configure and implement a demonstrator that is able to check the syntactic and semantic correctness, effectiveness and efficiency of services HSSP realized. The demonstrator will address a real issue in the clinical care. In particular, the partners plan to establish a set of processes and scenarios of use in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic pathways of patients with headache. The objective is to demonstrate that by the use of these new services can support processes clinical health complex, involving the interaction of heterogeneous and distributed actors.The trial will take advantage of the services made obviously some legacy systems of the project partners, such as the interoperability platform X1.V1 Dedalus. Taking into account also the results of testing the OR5, through the Pilot made, also aims to study and propose the conditions and arrangements for a future industrial exploitation of the results obtained within the project. HealthSOAF, in fact, can provide important results, both in terms of specifications, it is and especially in terms of prototypes, by which can be actually realized clinical health information systems of new generation, which finally passes from a vision to products, a vision for processes in which, thanks to a more native application interoperability, we can address issues such as continuity of care, integrated care hospital territory and, at the same time, enforce policies that clinical governance can optimize the use of resources and have a positive impact on health care costs

 

Given the very strong focus on research and development project HealthSOAF, the ORs were structured in a classic approach to the development cycle of the software (software development life cycle). .

 

As the OR recall the steps of a Waterfall methodology, in fact, as the Gantt project also highlighted, the partners will take the approach "agile" in which specification, design and alpha release will be rotated in an iterative manner. For this reason, we believe that the relational structure of the OR should be interpreted according to the following framework.
