The specific Retrieve, Locate, and Update Service (RLUS) has the objective to define service interfaces, creating, recording, updating, research, identification, retrieval, and querying data, even those clinical and health. RLUS is not intended to replace or revolutionize systems or existing implementations - it was indeed developed taking account of the most important implementations of distributed health management data systems, such as those made by suppliers providers participating in the organization IHE.

From the beginning the goal was to create the "generic" interface (in the sense that it fits most sizes of the data to the functions of querying and updating) as simple as possible for the patient’s clinical health, making up the Health Record.

The list of operations RLUS And Query Management Interface consists of

Locate Resources

Allows to obtain a list of locations and resource metadata corresponding to the set of parameters that represent, in addition to the semantic signifier, (a) selection criteria, (b) identifiers, (c) examples;

Get Resource

Allows to obtain a resource corresponding to the set of parameters that represent, in addition to the semantic signifier, a definite description, namely (a) an identifier, (b) of the selection criteria, (c) an example;

List and Get Resources

Allows to obtain the list (possibly empty) of resources corresponding to the set of parameters that represent, in addition to the semantic signifier, a indefinite description, namely: (a) the selection criteria, (b) an example;

Put Resource

Allows to assign a resource, in relation to a semantic signifier, to the management of RLUS Provider and make it accessible;

Initialize Resource

Allows to notify the creation of a resource, in relation to a semantic signifier, to a RLUS Provider that can act as a register in respect of the resource;

Discard Resource

Allows to remove a resource and its links from a RLUS Provider. Removal is always logical.

The specification (Platform Specific) of generic operations on the platform WS * is a WSDL document (RLUSGenericService.wsdl) in which the pattern of the payload of operations is not specialized. RLUS also proposes the RLUS Meta Data Interface that allows the manipulation of Semantic Signifier with operations such as

Ø  CreateSemanticSignifier;

Ø  FindSemanticSignifier;

Ø  UpdateSemanticSignifier;

Ø  ListSemanticSignifiers;

Ø  etc.

The PIM RLUS specifics are compiled by HL7 while those at PSM are managed by OMG for the platform and by WS * MITRE Corp., regarding the REST platform (where they take the name of HDATA). In the HealthSoaf context, the interface functionality will be deployed in full, both on WS * platform that REST platform.
